Harry Reid is the Majority Leader in the U.S. Senate, and he is a man who commands the respect of colleagues from both parties. He is a very powerful advocate for the middle-class families in Nevada. He puts his leadership in position to work and deliver meaningful results for the Nevadans. In 1998, Reid was re-elected and was chosen by his colleagues to serve as the Assistant Democratic Leader, and he was also known as the “Whip.” He said that our economy is in trouble and we’re all feeling the pinch. There are many factors that have led to this crisis, but much of it is the result of years of deceptive lending practices, negligent oversight and deregulation that all failed to place the interests of hardworking Americans first. He also stated that he wants to make quality, affordable health care available to every Nevadan by cutting costs, improving quality, and expanding access. He is also committed to protecting Nevadans from existing and emerging threats to health by funding research on diseases and preparing the nation for a potential pandemic.
Sharron Angle- Republicans
A true protector of the Nevada Constitution, Sharron has fought and won judicial battles to protect Nevadan's constitutional rights. In 2003 while serving as the Minority Whip in the Nevada State Assembly, Sharron challenged the Governor's proposed massive $800 million tax hike. Supported by Nevada's constitutional requirement that a two-thirds super majority approve all tax increases, battle lines were drawn between the Republicans in the Assembly and the Governor. Sharron and fourteen other courageous Republicans consistently voted against the tax measure through the end of the regular session of the legislature and on through two special sessions. The Governor then sued the legislature in Angle v Guinn to force a decision by the Nevada Supreme Court. The Court over-ruled the two-thirds requirement, which meant the taxes were to be imposed through a simple majority rather than by two-thirds vote. Using her own funds, Sharron hired Dr. John Eastman of the Claremont Institute to defend the Nevada's Constitution against this injury. Angle and Eastman took this case to Federal District Court in Nevada, which ended up referring the case to the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, then finally to the U.S. Supreme Court.
This race is really close and this is because both candidates deserve the right for the job. The race is 2.5 percent apart in favor of Reid. It started out with Angle jumping out to a commanding lead and then the lead started to fade. Sure enough Reid made it close and then the tables turned and made the new leader Reid. Reid has kept the lead until now and is probably going to win the election.

It is a very tight race in nevada right now. the republicans hold a very slight lead there by sharon angle. she is winning in percentage 47% to 45%. this race can go either way because the end of the election is right around the corner. the democrats are keeping it close and are hoping to steal the race towards the end of the election. it is a toss up right now and hopefully it will come down to the wire.
